Who We Are

We are a mother-daughter duo who believe in quality products that last as long as you can take care of them! The name comes from a long-called, now official title of the family farm. Heidi’s husband and Ana’s father, Michael, was a Bass Trombonist with his own private studio, which is where the idea of the “bones” came from. The Bear is a play on words: when it comes to our designs, they’re for function over frills, giving you the bare (or should we say Bear) bones!

Every piece is made (literally) by hand. We found that commercially available products lack purpose and don’t last as long as we want. We make our products to last a lifetime, no repeat buys from us! Sustainability is central to our purpose, which is why we invest in quality materials and design everything ourselves with longevity in mind.

Ana Meidenbauer

Currently pursuing her Doctorate in Instrumental Performance at UMKC (Go Roo’s!), Ana has been crafting since she was a kid in her local 4-H club. Crafting became a constant outlet through the school years, with skills being honed along the way. From knitting to crocheting, crocheting to quilting, and now quilting to leatherwork, Ana likes to keep her hands busy! Through her time in college, she began to sew items for her convenience and health as a musician, which turned into the beginnings of this business. A few friends along the way suggested making specific items that we now sell, and now here we are! Ana is interested in musician’s wellness, and likes to help people make their instruments more accessible and conducive to a long, healthy career.

Outside of being a musician and this business, Ana likes to be outdoors hiking, camping, or just walking her dog Sage. Sage is a very energetic Lab-Shepherd mix puppy. Ana also has two cats, Junior and Goose, who are begrudgingly involved in the training of Sage. See their pictures below!

Heidi Meidenbauer

A recent Retiree from her career as a High School Math teacher, Heidi is enjoying her retirement with a return to crafting, a life-long love. Her interests in flower arrangement and wood burring are finally seeing an investment in her time.

Heidi tutors Math to private and home instruction students and in her spare time, manages the family farm. This farm has horses, goats, chickens, geese, and a rabbit. She is assisted by the three family dogs: Schatzi, Pearl, and Kahlua, and her favorite (only) cat Mr. O’Malley.

The Pets

We love our pets, so we thought they deserved the spotlight too.
